This past Saturday, I attended the 2016 MN Blogger Conference at Concordia University, St. Paul. I’ve been blogging for over 5 years now and this was my first event as a blogger. It was so much more than I expected; my fellow bloggers would agree, there are two reasons we go to these events.
- To learn, grow and get inspired by our content.
- To network with other bloggers.
First off, the keynote speaker Jennifer Kane killed it with her opening: How To Become A Fierce & Fearless Blogger! She was truly an inspiration to start the day with and I took away so much from her presentation that will benefit my attitude towards my blog and my e-commerce business.
As the day progressed, I knew which sessions I wanted to attend. I needed more help with my Editorial Calendar and then I attended Mastering The Art Of BloggingΒ before lunch. As the afternoon sessions rolled around, I attended How Successful Bloggers Monetize Their Site and I have to say this was the best one of the day for me. After, I wanted to learn more about Google Analytics since I’m a stats freak so I went to Hold Your Content Accountable and lastly, there was What Bloggers Need To Know About SEO.Β
A wide variety of speakers, information, and resources is what I got in return for my attendance this year. Let’s just say I’m already excited about next year. There was also free wifi, resource center, selfie station, headshot stations with Glimpses Of Soul Photography, and sponsors giveaways.
The best part of my day was meeting new and existing blogger friends, amazing blogger network we have here in Minnesota, and I’m so proud to be a part of it. These ladies made the day so much more fun, and it was great to put a face to the social media profiles that I follow every day.
Here are just a few ladies I got to meet:
Meredith Breitenbach – Mommy In Leggings
Amber Adrian – Alternative Grace
Lisa Baker – Twin Cities Frugal Mom & Twin Cities Kids Club
Brandi Worthing – Duluth Kids Club
Heidi Mueller – Excelsior Candles
Jen Jamar – Organizer for #MNBLOGCON

Sounds like a really great event (and would love to take a monetizing your blog seminar in the future!). Thanks so much for sharing and glad you picked up some valuable insight π

Sounds like a fun and education time. I haven’t attended in years (there has been a conflict every year) but I look forward to going again in the future.
I love this! It was so awesome getting to meet you and getting to know you!!! Hope to meet up again soon! I’ve been checking out your other resources on here and they’re just so amazing!!!
I would have loved to attend, but was on my anniversary trip to the Mediterranean. Hopefully next year-you’ve inspired me!
This was my second MN Blog Con, besides the informational sessions I love meeting up with other bloggers face-to-face. Already looking forward to next year!
I really enjoyed being there too. Such good subjects. Wish I could have met more people
I loved hearing about your experience! I’ve never been to this conference, but your post has made me more interested in attending in future years. As a graphic designer, I know I would benefit from learning how to better engage my audience on my blog π Also looking forward to checking out your Blogging Series!
I missed the conference this year and I was so bummed! It is definitely one that is worth attending, I am going to make sure I can be there next year!
This sounds great! I should look into attending one where I live (close to Toronto). Sounds like it would provide some very useful information! I also checked out your Blogger Series link that you provided at the end of this post. Very helpful tips!
I was there for the first time too – so fun and inspiring! I’m excited to continue getting to know the awesome bloggers I met (and the ones I didn’t get a chance to connect with!)
I also attended for the first time and you went to all the breakout sessions that I also wanted to be in! It was such a great learning experience and I wish we had a chance to meet!
