Can I just say that this Date Night In Box was sent to us since last November! Yep, Mike and I had a wonderful date night in but if you read my first post of the year you know why I’m just now getting a chance to write my review.
This is what parenthood does to us, there are so many things to take into consideration before you have or attempt to have a date night or just having a conversation that doesn’t involve schedules, activities, which kid ate what and so forth.
We have been together for 19 years, married for almost 15 of those and our first child is 12, then our second came 3 years later and just when I signed her up for kindergartenΒ and got excited about the fact that I may have some free time on my hands I got pregnant with our 3rd. Only 2 more years until kindergarten I keep telling myself now :/
In the meantime, you know how it is, busy life, busy schedules, can’t find a babysitter, can’t afford a babysitter to watch 3 kids, even if you managed to get one and you make it out of the house you’re tired like a mother and father (get my drift).
Mike and I made a pact a few years back that we were going to try and get 1 day or night a month to spend with each other. Most months we go out to dinner or shopping together but sometimes we just can’t do it. So the next best thing? We do date nights in most months because let’s face it before we were parents we were wives and husbands, lovers, and best friends. We used to laugh, drink, talk without interruptions, have fun. Remember fun?
Remember doing things for each other that wasn’t kids related? Remember that connection? We have to make time for it. You have to invest in your relationship. It’s like a plant, it needs water, food, and light to grow beautifully. Pardon my analogy but lately, I’ve been in the habit of explaining things that way to my kids so they get my points.

So What Is Date Night In?
Date Night In is a monthly subscription box that deliversΒ a unique date night to door around the 16th of every month. There is zero planning involved, and there are some different options available in addition to Date Night In there is also Faith Night In and Kids Night In.
You have different subscription options 3 months, 6 months and 12 months. If you just want to try it then there’s also a month to month option. The more months you get the less you pay but the cost ranges from $30-$35. How much did you spend on your last date night going out? and don’t forget how much you spent on a babysitter π
I personally love the original creative items in each box, Mike liked that we got to stay in and to be honest and we both actually enjoyed our box together. We laughed as we went through each activity and it was so much fun. We are looking forward to doing more of these.
Below are some pics of our box from November, the theme was GIVING THANKS. You won’t see any pics of us in the pics because I wanted to take these images before I lose daylight and we wanted to truly unplug as we enjoy our Date Night In.
So will you be trying Date Night In soon? Get a free box when you sign up for 3, 6, or 12-month subscription with Date Night In, (no month to month). Use code ONEFREE at check out.Β Click here to get your own box.
This company is a scam, they automatically auto renew you and refuse to cancel subscriptions. The “dates” are cute, but nothing you cant plan yourself for less. They charged my card $120 for 3 moths on an auto renew and refused to refund even though the boxes had not been shipped. It also took me over a month of emails to get them to finally cancel my subscription. Had to return to sender the boxes and call my bank to say they are absolutely not authorized to use my credit card. Cute idea but terrible company.
Hi Brittany, I’m so sorry you had a bad experience with Date Night in a box. I believe there is an option to select only one date night box at checkout instead of the auto-renew. I’m happy you were able to get a refund.
